How Can We Make Chicken Curry More Sustainable?
Chicken curry is a quick and easy meal but has some long term environmental problems. Large chicken farms can pollute water and create greenhouse gases, and rice farming uses a lot of water and releases methane.
To reduce these impacts, farms could use better waste management to protect water and raise chickens more naturally. Using less water in rice farming, like dry planting methods, can help reduce water use and methane emissions.
At the local level, buying chicken and rice from nearby farms would cut transportation emissions. People can also reduce food waste and recycle packaging to lower the impact.
Individually, we can choose to eat less meat or pick chicken from farms that follow better environmental practices.
But there are limits. Not everyone has access to local farms, and changing farming methods can be expensive or slow. Also, reducing meat consumption is hard for many people because of cultural habits and preferences.
In short, solutions need to happen at global, local, and individual levels together.
